Spring is two days away, and I’m sharing my top ten spring must-haves. Yes, can you believe that it’s spring? It seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating the new year. Well, winter is officially over so get ready for sunny days. That means you can start ditching those heavy wool coats and furry boots for lighter clothes.
However, layers are essential for spring. During spring the weather can go from hot to cold and vice versa within hours, which is why layers are crucial. I’ve gathered a list of the top ten must-haves for spring this year. If you are on a limited budget, really just want to invest in key pieces for this spring, or just want to be in the “know,” this is your spring style guide.
Woven or Basket Bag
It was all the rage last spring and summer, and it’s no different this year. The woven and basket handbags are a key piece for keeping that beachy vibe. This bag comes in the clutch, tote, and crossbody styles, so you’re sure to find one that works for you.
Denim Jacket
Spring is all about layering for the still cold and yet hot weather. An essential transitional piece of clothing is a denim jacket. Not only is this jacket timeless but, it’s the perfect layering jacket. If you already have the classic denim, try getting a color instead of the blue.
LWD (Little White Dress)
Yes, instead of the LBD we are looking at the LWD going into spring. Spring, although can still have dark colors, the white dress will prepare you for those warmer days ahead. Try pairing your LWD with a denim jacket.
Florals
Floral prints are hot this spring season. They’ve already been showing up everywhere, so be sure to get your floral on this spring. Check out my latest Trend Report on spring florals for more inspiration.
White Denim
For the past few years, white denim has been on trend. The same goes for this year, so if you’re looking to replace your existing pair or finally get a pair, there are plenty to choose from right now.
Pastels
Pastels are coming back in full force this year. They were all over the NYFW shows for spring, and now they are in stores. The light blues, pinks, purples, and yellow are essential for your spring wardrobe.
Matching Sets
Matching sets are when you have a separate top and bottom pieces that aren’t connected but are of the same fabric, so they match. This style was popular in the 50’s and 60’s and is currently back on the shelves. This look is not something you would wear every day but will put you on the fashion-forward list.
Espadrilles
Espadrilles were all of the rage last year. You couldn’t look through your Instagram feed without seeing a pair. Well, the same goes for this year. I’m already spotting the cute, warm weather shoes everywhere.
Hoops
Now, I’m not just talking about your simple gold or silver hoops (although those are still in my rotation). For this spring statement hoops are the must-have trend. The large tubular hoops have already made it into my wardrobe. I’m loving some of the more fun styles as well.
Slingbacks
This cute shoe style, although not new, is making a comeback this year. It’s true that fashion will always come back around with new and improved styles. The slingback shoe is no different. I’m already eyeing the pair that I want (ok, maybe two pairs).
