I love finding new ways to innovate my style. There are a few things that I do, but there are three easy ways to spice up your outfit. I use these tips when wearing a very basic outfit or I’m tired of the same outfit that has been in my rotation. I usually get like this in-between seasons because I’m still wearing some of my winter pieces but I’m ready to incorporate spring items.
1. Add a scarf or hat
Let’s start with the scarf. There are so many ways to incorporate a scarf into your outfit. I will add a scarf to my hair as a headband or head wrap, which is especially useful on a bad hair day. Another way I wear a scarf is by wearing it around my neck. This look (popular in the 1950’s) was on trend last year and this year seems to be no different. If wearing a scarf is not your cup of tea, simply tie the scarf around the handles of your handbag or your wrist. I’ve even seen a scarf tied around an ankle, and it looks pretty fabulous (definitely trying that one).
Ok, so now onto the hat. This one is easy enough but not as versatileย as the scarf. Thankfully for me (and you), there are so many styles of hats around these days, which make it easy to pick a style that fits your look. I’m a hat person and spring and summer have a great selection of hats.
2. Step into some fun shoes
Of course, I would say shoes! Now, I’m not talking just any shoes. Although I love a good basic shoe, they just will not do the trick for what we’re trying to accomplish. You need a fun shoe, one that will make your look. There are so many cute shoes this spring that can take a tired or basic outfit, to hot and fresh.
3. Let your jewelry speak for itself
Lastly, is your jewelry. This last tip is the easiest way to refresh your outfit. You want to find jewelry that is fun and on trend. It’s also the perfect way to transition into the new season. Choose your favorite type of jewelry and add something trendy. I usually wear some fun earrings, such as big hoops, tassels, or beaded. Have your jewelry make a statement.
Now, remember, you don’t need to do all three of these tips at the same time. Choose one or two to add to your outfits. Try mixing and matching during the week; you might be surprised with the outfits you create. Feel free to share how you spice up your outfits in the comments.
Bye for now babes!
