I’ve been working from home part-time now for about two years, so I’m going to call myself an expert on the matter. One key thing about working from home is the work from home outfit. Yes, this is important, and I’m about to tell you why.
I know what you’re thinking “I can work from home, so it’s pajamas all day every day!” Trust me, sister, that gets old real quick. However, there are a couple of reasons why it’s essential to be strategic about what you wear when you work from home.
Why Should You Plan Your WFH Outfits
- You may be video conferencing into meetings. The top half of your body will be visible to the world (or at least those in the meeting).
- Wearing pajamas all day every day gets depressing (trust me). It’s the quickest way to cabin fever.
With that said, I’ve put together a few work from home outfit ideas that you should be able to pull out of your closet.
Work From Home Outfit 1
This first outfit is perfect for those days where you’re in video conferences. Not only is this look professional (at least the top), but it’s comfy enough to wear all day.

Work From Home Outfit 2
In this second outfit, it’s a little more laid back but still dressy enough. Layering a knit wrap over a basic tank, helps this look dressy. The drawstring pants and the slip-on sneakers allow for all-day comfort.

Work From Home Outfit 3
The third outfit includes a pair of distressed denim. I find that I have to wear a pair of jeans at least once a week when I work from home. It keeps me feeling a bit more put together. When paired with a chunky sweater and some classic sneakers, it’s a great look. Add some simple jewelry, voila.
