It’s that time of year for holiday shopping! I don’t know about you, but I’m excited. Shopping this time of year is one of my favorite things to do. I love the vibe of cold weather, hot drinks, festive music, and beautiful lights. Another thing that I love about holiday shopping is the SALES!
First, who doesn’t like the sales that are happening this time of year? Honestly, this is the best time of year shop mainly because of all of the sales. I know holiday shopping can be daunting with the crowds and the stress, but shopping has never been easier.
Every year it seems that stores are trying to outdo each other with starting their sales earlier and earlier. I swear last year the holiday deals began a week before Black Friday, which is pretty much right now! So you can beat the crowds by starting the week of Thanksgiving.
Also one of my favorite ways to shop is online. Yes, online shopping can be so effortless these days (check out my online shopping post). You will avoid the crowds. I mean really, you can snuggle up in your sweats, a cozy blanket, and a glass of wine (of course), and shop. Brilliant right!
I wanted to share some shopping tips for the holiday that will help keep you as sane and stress-free as possible.
Have a game plan
Before you start your holiday shopping, know what you want to get and where to get it. You will need to do a bit of research. Even if you don’t do your shopping online, take a look and get a feel for what’s out right now. Find out where the sales are and when they are occurring. Take note of what you want, set up your strategy.
Stay Hydrated and Eat
Staying nourished should be a no-brainer, but you would be surprised how you can miss a meal when you are on a mission. The one thing you don’t want to be is a hangery holiday shopper. So bring some water for hydration and eat before or bring a small snack.
Start your holiday shopping early
The best time to beat the crowds and get the best merchandise is now. The shelves will be fully stocked with your desired items. Like I said earlier, the sales start early!
Shop Online
Yes! Honestly, shopping online has never been easier. If you have concerns about fit, find a place that offers free returns. There are so many tools that you can use to find discounts (retailmenot, honey) and price dropping notifications (shoptagr).
Have fun
Of course, enjoy your holiday shopping experience. Shopping can be a fun time of year for everyone. You just need to make sure that you follow my above advice, relax, take some deep breathes, and get into your shopping groove.

These are such good tips! Especially the stay hydrated and eat. I always forget that and then get crabby and it turns into a less than great experience.
Yes! Anything to prevent getting hangry.
