There are so many perks to being in your 30’s, but keeping youthful skin without work is not one of them. Now, I’m not a skincare expert, but I’m in my 30’s which gives me some insight. To be fair, my skin still looked amazing in my early 30’s. It wasn’t until my mid 30’s where it starts getting a little bleak.
Now, naturally I might be being a bit dramatic, but my skin is important to me. I’ve always had beautiful skin, and I want to be able to keep it that way. Now, I know I’m not going to find a fountain of youth, but I can at least find skincare products that assist in the process of aging.
5 Must-Have Skincare Products
So I’m going to share my thoughts on the five skincare products that I think every woman should be using if she’s over her 30’s. That’s not to say you can’t start using these products before then; you should be using some of them. So without further ado, here are my top picks in no particular order with some honorable mentions as well.
1. SPF
SPF is the first item on my list, which is by far the most important product that you should be using. I would say SPF would be something that you start in your youth and continue to use, well, really for the rest of your life. Not only is this skin care product going help prevent cancer from the sun, but it will also help with wrinkles (add a big hat too, and you’re in business). You’re skin also tends to get “age spots,” which are discoloration of the skin. You get these by frequent and unprotected exposure from the sun. It’s always best to play it safe and pile on the SPF. An SPF anywhere between a 15 and 30 should suffice.
2. Neck Cream
If there’s one thing that I’ve noticed with age is the skin on my neck starts getting very thin and saggy (queue, Darth Vader’s “Noooooo”). Oh yes my friends, this is a true story. To me, it feels like my skin changed overnight in my mid 30’s, which is a total exaggeration because I’m sure it was happening over time. I wish I would have started using a neck cream in my early 30’s, but here we are, and I might be slightly “freaking out” about it. Honestly, I do pay more for my neck cream than I do for my moisturizers. I’m currently using Strivectin Advanced Neck Cream, and I love it.
3. Moisturizer
Another critical skincare product is a good moisturizer. Another habit that you need to start in your early years is putting on a daily and nightly moisturizer. Keeping your skin hydrated is vital for that youthful look. I’ve been using face moisturizer since I was a teenager. There are several excellent moisturizers out there at any price point.
4. Retinol Cream
I started using retinol cream after talking to a dermatologist who told me it would help with wrinkles and keep the collagen in my skin. I’ve been using the Philosophy Help Me cream at night. It’s only been a couple of months, but so far it’s been working out.
5. Cleanser
A really good cleanser can do wonders. After 30, we should be making it a point to wash our face daily. Although I’ve had those rare nights that involved a little too much alcohol. Now, I’ve tried several different cleansers. One of my favorites is cleansing oils, which always leave my skin feeling amazing. I also use Neutrogena Cleansing Cloths regularly. They are so convenient to have around as well.
Now for the runner-ups on my list. Eye cream for those up and coming crows feet is always a good idea. I also use a wrinkle cream to help with those laugh lines as well. So take it from me, if you’re in your 30’s or approaching, get these must-have products.

This is great babe! I’m so bad about skincare and have sensitive skin so it’s for me to find anything, but definitely needs to become a priority!

Difficult for me*

I highly recommend at minimum a simple routine with a few products. Thankfully, there are so many great products out there for sensitive skin. I know Sephora has a “sensitive skin” filter on their product search, which should help in your search.

I’m glad you liked it. Skincare is so easy to forget about but your skin needs extra attention, especially the older you get.
