We’re sharing multiple ways to tuck your shirt, which adds an increased sense of style to your look. One of the easiest ways to elevate your outfit is by adding styling techniques such as tucking. Now, you can use most (not all) of these tuck methods with a t-shirt; they all work well with a button-up shirt.
Depending on the shirt that you use, the look might end up with a different look. We prefer to use oversized shirts, which allows us more shirt to work with and gives us room to adjust. Our recommendation is to try these methods with your different shirts and find what works best for you.
We even created a video where we share instructions on how to apply each tuck. Check it out!
5 Ways Tuck Your Shirt
Full Tuck
The full tuck is the most traditional and classic tuck. This tucking method consists of you tucking the entire shirt into your bottoms. You’ll want to be sure to make sure the tucked part of the shirt is smooth and that there are no lumps, as they will show.
Half Tuck
The half-tuck is trendy and gives an effortless but stylish vibe. This tucking method is when you tuck one front side of the shirt into your pants.
Front Tuck aka French Tuck
The front tuck, also known as the french tuck, is also a prevalent tucking technique. This method is where you button up your shirt, take the bottom tip, and tuck it into your bottoms. The front tuck is great for easily adding style to bulky tops such as sweaters and heavy knits.
Wrap Tuck
The wrap tuck is not as common but adds a next level of style. This tucking method is when you unbutton the shirt, pulling one side of the shirt under the other side, then taking the other side and pulling it over the top, essentially wrap each side across your body.
Front Knot
The front knot is not really a tuck, except that there is some under-tucking involved. This method is when you button your shirt halfway (or to wherever you want the shirt to hit), take each side of the shirt, tie it into a knot, and then tuck the shirt under the shirt all around.
