How many of you want to learn how to save time during the week? I know it’s something that I’ve had to master over the past few years. So I thought that I would share this wisdom with you all.
Over the years of working full (like hardcore full time), creating 2 side businesses, spending time with my partner and friends, and, most importantly, having “me” time, it can get overwhelming. I mean, it’s exhausting just thinking about it. So I had to find ways to save me time during the week.
Here are some time-saving tips and tricks that continue to help me save time and make life a whole lot easier.
Tips on How to Save Time
1. Meal Prep
The first tip is meal prepping. I know what you’re thinking, but trust me, it will actually save you time during the week. By spending 1-2 hours a week on your meals for the week, it could save you hours. How? Well, for starters, it takes the guessing work out of what to make. It also saves time because you’re not cooking and doing dishes every day. And there’s a bonus! Depending on what you make, it can save you money and allow you to eat healthier.
2. Plan Your Outfits
Most of us sit in front of our closet for about 10-15 minutes, wondering what we’re going to wear each morning. In the past, this has almost caused me to be late to work a few times. Planning your outfits will remove that guesswork each morning, and trust me; it adds up throughout the week. Always remember to look at the weekly weather report before planning to account for the temperature.
3. Take Advantage of Delivery Services
One of my favorite ways to save time is by taking advantage of grocery delivery services. I use Amazon Wholefoods and InstaCart (not an ad) weekly. Driving to the grocery store and waiting in lines is not something that I care to do, plus it just consumed so much of my time. So I decided in this case that paying a little extra to have my groceries delivered was a worthwhile tradeoff. Not only did it save me time, but it also lowered my stress.
4. Clean as You Go or Hire a Service
Cleaning is not my favorite chore, as I’m sure it’s not yours either. Not only is it not fun, but it’s so time-consuming. I have a couple of ways that saves me time cleaning. The first is to clean as I go. By using this method, things stay cleaner for longer. It’s so easy to get lazy and not do this, but trust me, it will be worth it. The other method is to hire a cleaning service. It does cost more, but it gives you hours back of your time. I found both methods effective by themselves as well as combined.
5. Learning to Say “NO”
Saying “no” is one of the hardest lessons that we all learn in life. We all want to do everything, and we want to do it now. But unfortunately, we have to prioritize our time to have enough time for everything in our lives. This means you will have to say no to certain activities, invites, and even work-related tasks. Remember, saying “no” now doesn’t mean never; it just means that you might have to postpone or do it later.

6. Create a Weekly Routine
Now, this last tip might be unpopular, but if you’re really looking to save time, a weekly routine will help. I know, it sounds so boring and not sexy at all. However, creating a weekly routine will help you stay organized with your weekly tasks. For example, perhaps your food prep and laundry fall on Sundays or groceries get delivered on Saturdays. Whatever you choose, it will take the guesswork and stress out of your week, therefore giving you time.
Closing Statement
