If you were around in the early aughts, then you remember capri pants (also known as “pedal pushers”). Whether you loved or hated them, like most things in fashion, they’re having a moment. But this isn’t the first time they have returned, as this style was extremely popular in the 50s.
Style icon and actress Audrey Hepburn was known for pairing capris with ballet flats (a fit that is trending today). If you rewatch the early seasons of Sex and the City, Carrie (played by SJP) stylishly wore different types of capris.
Like most “of the moment” trends, capri pants are inciting a lot of controversy (think skinny jeans and low-rise). However, it should always come down to your personal style. What do you feel good wearing? Fashion is an expression of oneself and should be thoughtful.
