Looking well-rested is something I’ve been striving for lately. I know, I should be trying to get more sleep overall, but honey let’s face it, it ain’t always easy. Getting those 8 hours of sleep is a dream (pun intended) at this point, so why not have the next best thing; look like I got that much sleep.
Today, I’m going to share some of my tips on how to look well-rested even when you’re not. I’ve been working some incredibly long hours at my day job on top of attempting to keep a semi-regular schedule on my blog. This schedule means a lot of early mornings and late nights, so I’m lucky if I get 4 or 5 hours of sleep.
4 Tips on How to Look Well-Rested
1. VII Code Oxygen Eye Masks to the rescue
It’s no surprise that the older you get, the darker your under-eye circles get in return. So in order to combat this, you can’t use just any old under eye mask and expect it to work. You need something that is going to do some serious work. I’ve found that VII Code Oxygen Eye Masks for Dark Circles puts in the work so that I can work those long days and late nights.
To tackle those tired eyes, I wear these eye masks during those nights that I know I’m going to get little sleep. I keep them in the refrigerator, so they are nice and refreshing when I apply them. I will also apply them in the am or pm if I need a quick boost a few hours before I head out the door.
In a previous post (Beauty Sleep with VII Code Eye Masks), I reviewed these eye masks and absolutely loved them. With the VII Code Oxygen Eye Masks for Dark Circles, you get bonus benefits because these babies will be doing double duty by helping with wrinkles and puffiness too.

2. Invest in a good concealer
Another great way to tackle those tired eyes is to invest in a good concealer. I kid you not, dropping those extra couple of dollars will pay off. I’ve found a couple of brands that do the trick. The first is Amazing Cosmetics Concealer and the second is IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer. Both of these options are not in the clean beauty category, but they will make you look significantly less tired. Trust me!
3. Chill on the blue lights
Now, we’re in the early stages of discovering the effects of blue light (light that emits from your smartphone, tablets, and computer). However, I think it’s safe to say that it’s not natural therefore can have some side effects.
For me, staying on my phone and computer all day and night takes a toll on my face and eyes. I’ve taken a few precautions to lessen the effects and frankly to not make me look so haggard. I started wearing COOLA Full Spectrum Drops to protect my skin against this very thing.
Another practice that I’ve put into place, although difficult, is not being on my tech device 30 minutes after I wake up and before I go to sleep. Ideally, I would make it an hour, but let’s be real; I still need to get stuff done. So in its place, I will read a book or a magazine, go for a run, or practice guided meditation.

4. Drink lots of water
I know you’ve been hearing “drink water” you’re entire life, but you’re going to hear it from me too. Drink lots of water! I’ve been very conscientious about my water intake lately. Drinking several glasses of water daily will not only help with your physical well-being, but it will keep your skin hydrated.
On busy days, I’m consuming a ton of caffeine (and let’s be real a few glasses of wine), which will leave your skin feeling dry and fatigued. That’s not the look I’m going for, ladies. And I’m sure you’re not either. I will try to consume at minimum 32-40 ounces a day, and since I’ve started, my skin is looking much better.

Closing Statement
Remember if you can, always try to go for the 8 hours of sleep. But, if you’re like me and that’s not always an option, try these tips to stay looking fresh. I don’t know about you, but when I look good, I feel good. Do you have any suggestions on looking well-rested? If you do (or just want to say hi), leave a comment.
