Although it’s still hot in many areas, today, we’re going to talk about how to transition your summer dresses to the fall season. So if you’re thinking about putting your summer clothes away, take a look at these tips, which can extend the life of those pieces.
What is the summer to fall transition? It’s the time of year where summer is ending, and fall is beginning, but we’re kind of in an in-between spot. It’s too hot to transition to our fall wardrobes completely. We’re also not quite ready to give up on summer just quite yet. So it’s really a way to incorporate the two before we deep dive into fall.
For this article, we specifically focus on how to transition your summer dresses to fall, but the tips below can really be used for most (if not all) of your summer pieces.
3 Ways To Transition Your Summer Dresses To Fall
1. Add Layers Under Your Dresses
By adding pieces such as a button-up, t-shirt, or long-sleeve under your summer dress, you’re creating a look that not only adds more warmth but is really more fall-appropriate. This is a perfect way to take those summer dresses into fall, especially if they’re strappy.
2. Add Layers On Top Of Your Dresses
Adding layers on top of your dresses, such as a sweater or shirt, will essentially turn your dress into a skirt. It’s a great way to your favorite fall pieces with a summer vibe. Also, this makes your summer dresses way more versatile.
3. Add Layers That You Can Take On & Off Over Your Dresses
For those cold/hot days, you may need to add & remove your layers throughout the day; try blazers, cardigans, denim jackets, etc. Lightweight jackets and cardigans are perfect because the weather isn’t quite cold enough to pull out our heavy fall jackets.
