Once mixing prints was a fashion faux pas, but now is a trendy way to change up your looks. Although mixing prints has been popular for the past few years, only recently have I started mixing my prints. I’m finding that by mixing my patterns, it adds a whole new set of possibilities to my wardrobe.
If you’re unsure of what types of prints to mix, I recommend trying a few combinations to see what works best for you. Some popular prints to try are florals, stripes, polka dots, plaid, leopard, geometric, and houndstooth. My recommendation is to pair two of these patterns in order not to overdo it.
Floral and Stripes
In this look, I’m pairing floral and stripes. These two patterns are trending this spring, which makes it exceptionally easy to find cute pieces. I recently bought this floral duster and knew it would be perfect to mix with another print. I chose this striped bodycon dress with long sleeves since it’s still a bit cold outside. This look is ideal to transition into spring.
I’m pairing this cute straw bag from Zara, which was on my 10 spring must-haves post. The Steve Madden espadrilles are from last year but are still on trend for this season. Each of these pieces enhances the spring/summer vibe to this look.
I plan to continue to mix patterns and share my favorites with you all. I would love to hear what prints you love to mix in your wardrobe? If you haven’t mix prints yet, what is holding you back? Leave a comment and let me know.
