As the year comes to a close, I’ve been thinking about my goals for next year. Now in past years, I set resolutions that were unobtainable. These broad goals usually meant that I would give up on them a few months into the year.
This year, I’m going to be setting realistic goals. Now, yes, I think I’m doing that, but I’m putting a little more consideration into it this year.
Eating Healthier
Now usually I just say the blanket “eat healthier,” but this year I want to give it more context. I want to eat more and waste fewer veggies. I tend to buy a bunch of vegetables, but they always end up going bad. So to keep them from going to waste, I will plan out my meals in advance.
Work-Life Balance
The term work-life balance gets thrown around, but not often practiced. And I’m so guilty of not keeping a healthy work-life balance. However, this year my goal is to set boundaries with my work so that I can have a more fulfilling life. I want to spend more time with those around me that matter.
Stay Active
Staying active is another one of those goals that are so easy just to forget. However, now that I’m getting older it’s more challenging to keep in shape without being active. In addition to being in shape, staying active is good for my soul.
Skincare
Speaking of getting older, I need to kick up my skincare game. Yes, I’m fairly good with my skincare but very inconsistent. This year, my goal is to focus on making sure I’m focusing on seasonal skincare and making sure I’m removing my makeup properly.
So those are my goals for the new year. I plan on checking in with myself mid-year to see how I’m coming along with my goals. If for some reason, I don’t follow through on my goals, I will reassess the goal. I’m not opposed to making slight adjustments. So tell me, what are your goals for the new year.

Love this article and your goals. Something to think about.
Thanks, Maxine! These goals are obtainable, so I know I can achieve them.
