San Luis Obispo, Spa Collective Review

If you’re in the San Luis Obispo area (Central California), then you have got to get a facial at Spa Collective. I recently went in for a Classic Jan Marini facial, and it was glorious.

When the owner, Stephanie Cotham, reached out to me to see if I wanted to facial in exchange for an honest review on Instagram, I jumped at the chance. Now, just to set the record straight, this was my first facial. Sure, I’ve done some at-home facials in the past, but it doesn’t compare to getting a facial at Spa Collective. I’m telling you, it is a whole new level of self-care.

My Experience at Spa Collective

I went into the spa on a Thursday evening after work. Since work has been intense lately, an evening getting a facial was just what the esthetician ordered (see what I did there). As soon as I entered Spa Collective, I was greeted warmly. The spa is small and welcoming, which was a nice change to others that I’ve been to in the past.

As soon as I met Stephanie, she was extremely sweet and made you feel at ease. She asked me about my skincare routine and my goals. Since I’m 38 years old, I’m very focused on anti-aging products. I came in with a face full of make-up, which she immediately removed.

After removing the make-up, she used an ionic dermaplaning tool on my skin, which slowly scraped my face with light pressure. This process was quickly followed by a blackhead removal tool. Thankfully, there were only a few problem areas in this department (whew). Next, is my favorite part.

Finally, she put a Vitamin C serum on my face (which smelled amazing) followed by a hydrogel mask. I chose the Egyptian Rose gel mask, and it was incredible. Once the mask was applied, it sa on my face while I received a light massage.

Closing Statement

After my facial was complete, my skin felt and looked amazing. I was so relaxed after my facial that I’m pretty sure I floated out of the building. Stephanie informed me that I should be getting a facial every 4 to 6 weeks. So now, I’m counting down the days until my next facial.

I recommend (if you’re in the San Luis Obispo area) to go to Spa Collective. They offer a number of services such as facials, massages, and even sunless tanning.
