I’m shopping my closet again, and this time my outfits are French-Inspired looks by Sezane. If you haven’t heard of Sezane, it’s a French company inspired by modern and vintage fashion. They focus on quality pieces that can last forever. If I were to describe the vibe of Sezane, I would say it’s French with a bit of a country and vintage twist.
I have a few Sezane pieces in my closet, but I wanted to see if I could capture that French vibe with other pieces in my closet. Challenge Accepted! In this post, I will be styling French-inspired looks directly from the items I own. None, however, are actually from Sezane. Most are pieces that I’ve owned for years or have thrifted.
Let’s break down some styling aspects that define Sezane’s style. Why do this? Well, by identifying each styling technique or piece, it helps you understand how to recreate those looks in your closet.
Sezane Style Breakdown
- Accessories are A MUST!
- Scarves: floral or paisley, usually worn around the neck but can be styled elsewhere.
- Lace and button-up shirts.
- Skirts are usually mini or midi length, often floral, but can also be pleated.
- Sweaters are always a good option.
- Wide-leg or flare jeans are perfection!
- Belts, belts, belts.
- The tall boot and skirt combo is key.
When searching through my closet, I utilized these aspects to create my Sezane French-inspired looks.
Sezane French-Inspired Looks
Look 1
I’m obsessed with this first look. It’s simple but seriously so good. First, I’m always a fan of a denim-on-denim look. However, adding the neck scarf and the vintage cowboy boots is perfection.

Look 2
This look is one of my favorites. It was also the most creative to put together. I didn’t have a short floral skirt, so I utilized a dress and added a cardigan on top. I decided to wrap the cardigan instead of buttoning it because it looked much better.

Look 3
I love this lace top, which perfectly matches the Sezane style aesthetic. Plus, the addition of the denim midi skirt, the boots, and the chunky belt works well. I do with that I had a leather belt here with a metal buckle, but this one will do.

Look 4
Going with wide-leg jeans and a button-up for this look. The button-up shirt is a floral, men’s shirt that I thrifted. The blue floral print was perfect. The accessories helped make this look. The chunky necklaces and the belt. To top it off, the wooden clogs were perfect.

Look 5
Since I didn’t have a floral skirt, I chose a pleated one. The movement in this skirt is incredible. Adding the sweater and the belt, really made this look shine. Of course, the scarf and other accessories helped.

Whenever I shop my closet, I’m always so impressed with the looks I create. The best part is that I didn’t have to go out and buy anything new; I used what I owned. Tell me, which one of these Sezane French-inspired looks was your favorite? Keep following along for more Shop My Closet content.
