It’s that time of year when Spring is trying to break free of the Winter. However, the weather is getting warmer, and the sun is starting to come out. This time of year is when you drop those poofy jackets with the fur and start wearing lighter clothing. One of my favorite outfit combinations is wearing sweaters combined with Spring/Summer weather clothes. For those of you following me on Instagram, you know that my sweater game is still strong. I love wearing sweaters and cardigans during this time of year. The air still has a bit of chill in it but not cold enough for jackets.
Some of my favorite Spring/Summer pieces to combine with a sweater are denim skirts and shorts. I will usually wear flat sandals, sneakers, and booties. If I am feeling more dressy, I will pair the look with a pair of heels or espadrilles. I will also wear sweaters and cardigans over day dresses or jeans instead of a jacket.
I’m wearing more lightweight sweaters right now. I found this pretty cardigan on sale at Express (luckily before it sold out). I loved the color; it is such a nice neutral that can go with so many different outfits. The bell sleeves also caught my eye because it adds a bit of flare to a simple look. I will say the sleeves were a little long, but not enough to deter me away from my purchase. This sweater is perfect for denim skirts, day dresses, leggings, and jeans. It has a bit of a bohemian vibe to it as well, which can be ideal for those summer days and nights.
For this post, I paired this cardigan with my favorite flares by Madewell (of course right) and my nude heeled sandals. I chose a simple white crop top for more of a casual style. As per my typical style, I went for a pop of color in my handbag.
I’m sure you will see more posts that have me wearing sweaters throughout the year, as it is a staple outfit of the day in my wardrobe. I am wearing a v-neck sweater and denim shorts as I write this article. How about you? Do you wear sweaters into Spring? Or do you box them up til next Winter?
