We’re mid-summer, so I want to share my summer wardrobe. I’m showing the pieces I keep grabbing from my closet, how I style them, and some easy summer style tips to keep your outfits interesting without adding layers.
Summer Wardrobe Edit
Summer Dresses
This summer, I’m leaning heavily into summer dresses. The majority of the dresses that I’m wearing are loose and lightweight. This silhouette lets me stay cool, comfortable, and stylish on those hot summer days.
Midi Skirts
Last summer, I was all about mini skirts; however, I’m going for midi skirts this summer. I love all the prints, styles, and silhouettes of the midi skirts in my wardrobe. I especially love taking those sophisticated styles and making a more casual look with them.
Accessories
Accessories are the best way to add an element of style to your outfit in the summer. They allow you to add visual interest to your outfit without adding layers. This summer, I’m wearing vintage scarves and flower brooches nonstop. To get ideas on how to wear a scarf, check out this video.
Shoes
Two styles of shoes have been in my outfit rotation this summer. The first is my vintage cowboy boots. Boots during the summer are very divisive. You’re either a boots-in-the-summer person, or you’re strictly a no-boots-in-the-summer person.
The second pair of summer shoes that I’m wearing are wedges. Now, wedges are back on trend, but they have always been a summer staple for me. The wedges I wear the most are my Cherokee of California pair (see here). They are cute, vintage-inspired, and comfortable.
Beauty
Beauty is always a part of my look, and it’s another way to add style to an outfit without adding layers. I prefer a lovely lip color and simple, stylish nails.
