Ever since I was in college for Fashion Merchandising, I have been interested in color trends. The day that I found out that people, as a job, determine and find color trends, my mind was blown.
People who predict color trends travel all around the world to find color influences from any and every outlet. The Pantone Color Institute is a business that forecasts color trends for the world of fashion, home decor, beauty, and many other industries.
Each year, the Pantone Institute predicts a color of the year, and for 2020 they have selected Classic Blue. Here’s Pantone’s description of Classic Blue 19-4052 “Instilling calm, confidence, and connection, this enduring blue hue highlights our desire for a dependable and stable foundation on which to build as we cross the threshold into a new era.“
I’ve created a few inspirational pieces in fashion, beauty, and home decor that highlight classic blue (or shades of it).

Closing Statements
Although I rarely wear Classic Blue these days, I still love understanding the color trends. Colors influence our lives so much from purchasing habits to triggering emotions. If blues aren’t in your color palette, you could always use them as accents. So tell me, what are your thoughts on the Pantone Color of the year?
