I know we have a month left in fall, so it’s hard to think about getting a winter coat right now (especially if you live in California). But the weather is cooling down, and it’s time to start making sure that you’re ready for winter.
Last year, I wrote an article on winter coats (here). Honestly, not much has changed in terms of coats since the previous year. So if you got a good one last year, it’s safe to say that you’re still on-trend. But, if you’re in the market for a good one, I’ve rounded up a few that will last for several fall/winter seasons.
What to Look For in a Winter Coat
Most good quality coats are not cheap, so you’ll want to make sure that you purchase one that will last. So here are a few things that I look for when buying a good coat.
- The style is timeless: If you want your jacket to still be in fashion for several years, you’ll want to find something more on the classic side rather than trendy.
- It’s high quality: The only thing that will allow your coat to last for more than a few months is the quality. You’ll want to make sure the fabric and stitching are strong and sturdy.
- Good reviews: If you’re buying from a brand that you’re not familiar with, be sure to look at reviews to see other people’s experiences with that brand. Read the good and the bad.
Winter Coat Roundup
Closing Statement
This year, I bought one coat from Zara that I know will last because it has all of the qualities mentioned above. I will also be wearing jackets that I have purchased in previous years (which is what I’m wearing in this picture).
Hopefully, my roundup has inspired you to either pull out that coat from your closet that you’ve been saving for the cold weather or to be more intentional when you do buy that winter jacket.
