In this new Trend Report, I discuss cut-off denim skirts. I love this “new” trend. There is an emphasis on “new” because like most things in fashion; they are newer versions of older styles. In the early 2000s, I loved cut-off denim skirts and had several different styles. Over the past few years I have still bought denim skirts, but not in this particular style. Last summer, my friends and I were all talking about the cut-off denim skirts and were wanting them to come back, and we would bring them back. It looks like we got our wish (although I’m sure it wasn’t solely because of us).
These adorable denim skirts are back, and they are hot. They are showing up all over stores, online and on social media. I see styles such as pencil, mini, distressed, zip fly, and button fly. You can wear cut-off denim skirts for casual or dressy attire. Another reason why I like this style of skirt is that it’s a nice transition piece from winter to spring to summer. While the weather’s still chilly, you wear this style with a sweater or long sleeves and boots. I have a few in my possession and am looking forward to showing you different ways to style this amazing style.
