Time to put those sandals away and start stocking up on this fall season’s boots. Yes, you heard me it’s time to get on that boot/bootie train. Boots and booties are one of my favorite things about fall. I would compare my love for fall boots to how everyone is waiting for the PSL to come out from Starbucks, I’m waiting for the fall boot trends. In this post, I will be breaking down my favorite boots and booties for this fall season.
White
Queue record scratch. I know you’re thinking “Did she say white?” Hell yes, I said white. I’m seriously digging the white boot trend right now. White boots come in a variety of styles from punk/combat to slouchy 80’s to a vintage mod style. My favorites in this category are the punk/combat style and the 60’s mod with chunky heels. A possible outfit pairing would be to pair this style with a cute plaid dress or skirt.
Combat
As mentioned above, combat boots are on trend. Yes, I mean the look from when you were a kid in the 90’s when grunge was born. I’m loving this look and have my eye on a few styles. I think this style would be perfect paired with a very “girlie” dress, perhaps a floral or polka dots embellished with ruffles. I can hardly wait.
Western
The western style bootie was strong last year and hasn’t died down. In fact, I’ve already started seeing this look in the streets paired with shorts, dresses, and short skirts. I love when they have some metal embellishment or buckle to emphasize on the “western” of the look. When it starts getting colder, this look would be perfect with a cute pair of skinny jeans and a slouchy sweater.
Sock Boots
I vaguely remember the sock boot being a thing in the early 2000’s but as it turns out they are back. Sock boots are showing up in stores, magazines, online, and in the streets right now. These stretchy boots are coming in hot. I think they would be perfect with a longer pencil skirt or a cropped dress pant worn with a crisp white shirt.
Slouchy
This trend is back from the 80’s with a vengeance. These tall boots although from the 80’s had a small resurgence in the early 2000’s, and now they are back. Ironically, I think I had a pair in my closet up until a few years ago (dang). I would love to pair this with a cute denim midi skirt and a slouchy sweater or henley top.
Lace-up
They are back from last year and still as sexy as ever. Lace-up boots and booties are still on trend, which makes me extremely happy. I love lace-up boots, and there are several outfit possibilities available with this style. I had a pair of lace-up booties from last year, which are still going strong in my wardrobe. Additionally, here are a few posts with this style; “Wardrobe Goals” and “Between Summer and Fall.”
To conclude, that completes my top picks for this month’s trend report. In addition to the above, what I love about these styles as well is that you can find a combination of any of these styles. I might have left a few styles out such as floral and velvet, but I could seriously go on for hours (let’s be real, days) about boot styles. I would love to hear what you think. Leave a comment with your favorite style of boots and booties this season.
