Loungewear has increasingly become a staple in our wardrobes since we’re spending more time at home. When you think of loungewear, you often think of your sweats and a ratty old t-shirt, but lounge these days has turned chic and stylish.
When did it get so trendy? Loungewear started shifting to something a bit more stylish over the past few years but really stepped into gear the pandemic year. It came out of the need to be comfortable at home but still stylish enough so that you feel like you’re dressing up.
Now, loungewear is different than athleisure, which is wearing workout clothes in a casual everyday fashion. Lounge is more of wearing comfortable and easy fitting clothes.
In the past, we would save our lounge pieces for our days off when we were going to binge our next Netflix show and eat junk food. Now, we’re wearing these looks to go on outings such as brunch, shopping, hanging with friends.
Some of the trendiest lounge pieces right now are co-ords (aka matching sets), which add a more intentional element to the look. Lounge bottoms are in the classic sweats, joggers, and we’re even seeing wide and flare leg pants. For tops, there’s anything from the cropped top, oversized, and a classic fit.

As we head into this new comfortable yet stylish lounge era, it’s a safe bet that these looks are here to stay for a while. If you were thinking about investing in a set either for going out or staying in, you’d most likely be able to wear it for the next few years. Let us know if Loungewear has made a comeback in your life.
