In the evolution of the animal print trend, mock croc is the rising star. If you’re buying a shoe, boot, or bag this season, make sure to consider this luxurious print. I even see this animal print on garments (like this kickass skirt).
The term “mock croc” or “faux croc” refers to an artificial print that is to give the appearance of crocodile or alligator skin. What is it really? It’s actually leather or imitation leather that is embossed to look like the skin of those pre-historic reptiles.
This print looks expensive and gives the illusion that you are wearing a luxury item. When, in fact, these pieces are incredibly affordable (um, yes, please!). And on top of that, you can feel good because you’re not harming any creatures in the process. Yay, for becoming more ethical and promoting fashion awareness.

Closing Statement
This once luxury only print is now available at all price points, which I love. As society starts becoming more aware of the growing ethics in fashion, we will start seeing more and more “mock” and “faux” items. I know I’ve been on the faux fur train for years. How about you?
If you haven’t checked out my Fall/Winter 2019 trends report, you should definitely get on that (article here).
