It’s fall and with that comes one of the hottest trends, plaid. You can see plaid on the runways, in magazines, and hanging on racks in stores. It’s everywhere right now. I’m incredibly excited as this print has always been a print that has caught my eye and I had several pieces even before this trend.
I’ve seen this print, for the most part, in the form of blazers this season. However, there are plaid pants, skirts, dresses, vests, and handbags that have come into play as well. I might have one of each.
In the photos, I’m wearing a plaid blazer from Missquided. I’ve tried a few sizes in this jacket but went with the size that was closer to my true size. The shoulders have slight padding but not too much to where it’s noticeable. The torso of the jacket has a longer length, which gives it a more “menswear” look and feel.
I’m wearing a graphic t-shirt from Missquided as well. I love the pairing of a casual top with a more sophisticated piece like a blazer. I’m also wearing a faux leather skirt, which is still on trend from last year, and sock booties. Sock booties are trending as well this year (check out the previous trend report on Fall Boots). To complete the outfit, I’m wearing a black beret. I’m in love with this outfit, and it will be on repeat for fall.
As I mention above, there are so many plaid clothing styles out right now (check out my article “Style Tips for Work” for another way to wear this print). Keep an eye out for more ways to wear plaid by following me on Instagram and Pinterest where I have an entire board dedicated and named “plaid.” I would love to hear how you wear your plaid by leaving a comment below.
