It’s sparkle season, which means bring on the sequins. This year more than last I’ve seen an abundance of sequins pieces all over the world of fashion. Perfect timing too because it’s party season.
I’ve only had a few sequins items in the past but have rarely worn them. Perhaps it was due to not having anywhere I could wear the sparkles, but really I think I had pieces that didn’t quite suit me overall. The key to purchasing one of these sparkly items is to make sure that it fits you and that you’re buying something within your own style.
If wearing head to toe sequins isn’t your thing, then adding it into your accessories is perfectly acceptable. What has honestly caught my eye this year has been the pants. Traditionally this embellishment is on dresses, tops, and skirts, but it’s the year of the sparkled pants. I haven’t decided whether I will purchase a pair, but I’m 100% intrigued.

If you’re unclear on how to wear your sequins and you want to elevate your fashion game, try pairing it with an unlikely item. For example, pair a sequins skirt with a chunky knit or a plaid shirt.
