Velvet is everywhere this Fall and I personally cannot get enough of it! Velvet is showing it’s soft luxurious touch in accessories, clothing, and shoes. This trend is also showing up in Menswear (bombers, blazers, etc). Something to note is that this is not just your basic black velvet that we have seen traditionally in the past, there are so many different colors this fall such as smokey gray, dark emerald green, teal and cobalt blue, nude, rich burgundy, etc. One of the nice qualities about velvet is that you can easily dress it up or down hence making it incredibly versatile in your wardrobe. Online stores are highlighting their velvet inventory which makes it easier to find their selections. Here are some of my favorite “must haves” in velvet from this season:
1. Pleated Midi Skirt in mauve. This skirt is perfect for work or a date night, paired with a cute graphic tee and heeled sandals or sneakers. (similar here and here)
2. Backpack in mink . This backpack could be worn for a more casual look with jeans, a white tee, and sneakers. Perhaps paired with a classic trench too.
3. Quilted Crossbody in teal. This is a great bag for fall. The color is deep therefore making it easily paired with denim or an all black outfit.
4. Flats in fuchsia. These flats would be perfect when paired with skinny jeans or black slacks. I could see wearing these to work or for a casual night out.
5. Booties in mauve crushed. These boots are great for any time of day and would look great with jeans, a denim skirt, or a midi skirt.
6. Kimono Robe in beige with a multicolor panther and rose graphic. I love this robe because this is making your casual wear edgy and fun.
7. Heeled Platforms in burgundy. Va Va Voom! These are very sexy shoes that would be great for a night out. This would look great with a satin maxi dress or a short skater dress with black opaque tights.
8. Joggers in gray. These pants are great for those days when you feel like being casual but with a bit more style to your look.
9. Blazer in gray. I love this style “twist” on blazers, instead of a basic blazer look the velvet will allow you to dress your look up or down. (similar here, here, and here)
10. Clutch in blush with a rolled top. This clutch is a perfect splash of color and/or velvet to your outfit in addition to being a great overall accessory.
11. Heeled Sandals in pink with metallic gold detail. These shoes are especially versatile. The soft pink allowing for a great day look while the gold detail allows for a nice transition to night.
So are you digging velvet yet? Do you currently own any velvet items that you can’t wait to wear? Let me know your thoughts.

Velvet had been a favorite of mine for years. So happy this is such a huge trend. Now I can add pieces to my existing collection. I’m loving that back pack!
